Some of Your Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I use more than one Sauce pan or Shelf Accessory? A:You can use as many as will fit on your Grill Advantage backsplash extension system. You can mix and match the accessories to fit your needs. The wider the grill the more accessories it can accommodate.
Q: How much weight can be stored on the shelf accessory?
Q:What do I do if my grill has rounded corners on the backsplash? A:Some older model grills have rounded corners and the Grill Advantage cannot attach to the backsplash properly. The rounded corners take away from the total width of the grill
Q: What do I do if my existing grill backsplash is warped? A:There are several options. The best is to use a combination of brackets from packets "A" and "B" or the spacer to make your Grill Advantage fit. (Note: warping occurs on your grills backsplash from excessive use over time.) Hypothetical example My backsplash view from left to right as I look at it is - Straight (Left) , then bows outwards away from me (Center) , then straight again (Right). Here's an example of how you would set up your clips from left to right "A" clip (Left), "B" spacer clip (Center) , "A" clip (Right)
Q: My backsplash on my grill is very low (2"-3") and or very high (6") can your system fit my grill? A:Sorry, our backsplash extension system was created for grills that have a backsplash ideally between 3.5" (lowest)-5.5" (highest)
Q: Why does my grill shut off when I install the backsplash extension system or seem as if its not heating up? A: It could be one of several reasons. Here are the three most common. 1)Either your flue area needs cleaning which is highly recommended before installing your Grill Advantage system. 2)Your grill has a deflector located over the flue area which will restrict gasses from flowing if it is blocked. 3) Your grill is pushed to far up against the back wall. There should be at least 6"-12" between the back wall and the back of your grill. Never push your grill right up against the wall as this restricts air flow. In any event, you should immediately remove the guard backsplash extender and go through the three steps listed above. If the problem still persists call customer support.
Q: My Guard/Backsplash Extender is leaning forward and seems loose. Did I do something wrong? A:Check your clips to make sure they are on tight. Next read the instructions in your owners manual to confirm that you have installed the correct clips (A clips, B clips, and spacer). Last, double check to make sure that your clips are properly attached to the backsplash. If you install the Guard wrong and the clips do not make proper contact with the backsplash of your grill, the Guard will lean.
Q: I recently bought the Grill Advantage System for my 36" grill. We are renovating our kitchen and want to buy a 72" grill. What are my options? A: Great question. Here is the most economic solution Purchase an additional 36" Backsplash Extender and install it side by side creating a 72" Guard. (36" x 2 = 72")
Q: Does the Grill Advantage Backsplash Extender fit on a Charbroiler? A: Grill Advantage was designed and engineered to fit flat top griddles. Charbroilers in most cases do not have a backsplash that meets the proper requirements for a secure fit. Those requirements are: *A backsplash that measures between 3.5" - 5.5" in height *A backsplash that does not have a lip at the midway point of the backsplash which is used to hold the grills grates when the grate elevation is desired *A grill width that is 24", 36", 48" and 60" (Typically charbroilers are not universal in width compared to flat top griddles) Agni, LLC is currently working on a charbroiler backsplash extender. A notice will be posted as to our progress and release dates and availability.
